Applications for field trips are accepted. (Formerly known as PASS applications.)

The Amesbury Cultural Council is interested in funding projects that impact Amesbury residents. Priority is given to local artists and institutions. Since we usually receive 30+ applications, we favor those which are clearly written, correctly filled out and do not provide more information than asked for.
In addition to the Massachusetts Cultural Council requirements, including quality, originality, & creativity; community benefit; planning; and budget, the Amesbury Cultural Council will evaluate projects with added emphasis on the following criteria:
Projects/events which take place in AmesburyProjects/events in which the artist is from Amesbury
New projects are given priority over recurring events
Public art projects/permanent art in Amesbury is given priority over a one-time event
Events shall have a venue and/or sponsor designated in application. Proposals from artists, etc, who have not made an agreement with a specific local venue or organization prior to applying will not be considered for funding.*

Submit 1 original + 10 copies (filled out completely).
Only submit 1 set of additional materials, brochures, cds, etc
Applicants may utilize the Field Trip Grant Application. In addition to said application, please describe how you will integrate this field trip into classroom activities (no more than 500 words). ACC gives preference to field trip requests that clearly relate to classroom curriculum.
No more than 15% of our allotted budget will be used to fund field trips. Field trips will be rated against other field trips, with an eye towards impacting as many students as possible.
The ACC retains the right to change funding percentages when the ACC deems appropriate.
The specific date of the performance/event should be stated, and if it is not available, information should be given explaining when the date will be set.
Quality, Originality, and Creativity:
Is the applicant and/or partners’ credentials satisfactory?
Do the qualifications of the artist, humanist, or interpretive scientist leading the activity suggest the project will be of high quality?
Are there technical considerations that would impact quality (lighting design expertise, teaching materials, appropriate workshop space, etc)?
Does the project seem interesting, innovative, or particularly original?
Does the project serve and involve the community? Does it serve a particular segment of the community? Does it benefit an underserved population?
Is the applicant a town resident?
Does the project contribute to the cultural vitality and well-being of the community as a whole?
Does the project address a community need?
Does the project play a unique role specific to the community?
How many town residents will benefit from the project?
Is there sufficient planning? Does the timeline make sense to ensure quality in project implementation?
Have the participants or intended audience been identified?
Have the date, time, and venue been set for the project’s completion? Are contact names listed for any performances or showings in the area?
For any public part of the project, is there a budget for marketing/publicity?
Are all financial costs listed (publicity, travel, materials, artist fees, space rental)? Do expenses equal income?
Can the project be successful if partially funded?
Has the applicant leveraged additional resources?
Will the project be done without Council help? Have funds been requested from other sources?
Rating Scale: The organization, program, or project is:
5: Overall excellent in all criteria with no major weaknesses or failings in the strict context of that criteria
4: Very good in all criteria or excellent in almost all, with perhaps no more than one major area requiring attention, correction, or major improvement
3: Good/average in all criteria, or very good in some areas but weak in others with at least one or more criteria requiring attention
2: Weak in several areas, but not necessarily absent of some merit in some areas
1: Very weak in almost all areas of the criteria
