The goal of the council is to provide the residents and schoolchildren of Bellingham to the arts, sciences and humanities in the most positive manner available. We do this by exposing children and adults to different types of programs that enhance their expertise and knowledge. This is accomplished by performances done in schools or taking students to another venue. This year the grants that were funded are: Acrobat Li Liu, Tournament of Science,The Amazing world of animals, An interactive master class with Clafflin Hill Orchestra for students involved in the music programs,a pastels class in painting "water lilies, a program on combating hate and prejudice, painting with acryllics for ages16+, interviewing vets of WWII for the Library of Congress project, a summer band concert, a puppet show that teaches both children and adults how to express themselves freely using dance, shadow puppets, real puppets, and new songs and dances.
