The Belmont Cultural Council has supported hundreds of community-oriented arts, humanities, and science projects, benefiting schools, organizations and individuals. Recipients of Massachusetts Cultural Council grants in Belmont have included public and private schools, the Sesquicentennial Committee, the Habitat Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, the Belmont Public Library and the Belmont Council on Aging. Recipients have created paintings, murals, sculptures, exhibits, musical programs and workshops, lectures and grants, all of which enrich the lives of the people who live and work in Belmont.

Funding Priorities
Preference will be given to Belmont-based non-profit organizations and local artists/humanists for projects that will benefit the Belmont community.
Applicants based outside of Belmont are expected to collaborate with or secure the sponsorship of a Belmont organization, institution, or individual. Evidence of collaboration or sponsorship, in the form of a letter from the Belmont entity, must accompany the application.
Local Guidelines
The application form should be completed online at www.massculturalcouncil.org/applications/lccapp.asp and then printed out for submission. Include an extra copy of the application, in addition to the original, and one set of supporting materials, such as resume(s) of key personnel, organizational brochures, letters of support/commitment, artist samples (video, slides, writings, portfolio, etc.). Please answer questions as clearly, simply and completely as space allows. Describe the project and any collaborators, and address the review criteria. The budget is divided into Projected Expenses and Projected Income. These must be equal amounts. You can include in-kind donations -- that is, services, materials or facilities which are provided at no cash cost to you. You may not request grant money for consumables, such as food or drink. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want materials returned. Completed applications must be postmarked by October 15 and sent to:
