Funding Priorities
The committee hopes to fund projects which will be of interest to, and enjoyed by, many residents of Bernardston. We encourage and specifically support local artists and organizations from within our community.
Local Guidelines
The Bernardston Cultural Council will consider all applications. Forms must be postmarked or hand delivered to the Bernardston Town Hall by the deadline of Oct. 15th.
To be considered we require the following;
A definite venue. The venue must be confirmed prior to submitting the grant request.
We must have a confirmed date or dates of your event or program with your application.
If you are awarded a grant (partial or full), you must provide us with your publicity materials. All programs must be advertised properly.
We encourage all artists or persons to apply. It is important to be able to offer diverse programming in our town. We might not always be able to fully fund each application, but we try to consider as many as possible.
Application forms can be found at the Town Hall or on the Massachusetts Cultural Council web site. The website is a good resource to insure the most complete application.
Please submit 8 copies. Each copy should be individually stapled. Supplemental materials do not need to be copied. If you need materials returned please include a self addressed stamped envelope and we will be happy to return materials to you. You can also arrange to pick-up materials at the Town Hall in Bernardston.
Please read local and State Guidelines carefully.
We receive a large amount of grant requests and can only consider complete applications. We truly appreciate your cooperation.
Sincerely,
The Bernardston Cultural Council.
Massachusetts cultural funds are not to be used to replace existing public funds for programs in the arts and humanities.
Bernardston CC does not fund the same project for more than three consecutive years. No more than two project frants will be awarded to an applicant in a single grant year.
