Currently the Council has scheduled a community forum/event in September of 2016. Date and time will be posted soon. This event will discuss and share with the community what cultural events may meet the needs of the community, how to apply for a grant and fill out the forms. The council would like to disburse funds to worthy groups. Each year the Members find themselves denying some proposals based on sheer lack of funding.
The Braintree Arts Lottery Council is comprised of individuals who either live or work in the community. Generally speaking they have current experience in the arts and/or humanities. Because of their knowledge of the community they have been in a position to solicit or encourage grant proposals from individuals or organizations who they feel will inform and entertain groups in Braintree. These would include programs which benefit groups of school children, elderly and families. The members of the Council asses the degree to which each request will reach the most people.
There will be a community meeting Sept. 29, 2017 at 7pm for a public information meeting, Auditorium, 2nd Floor at Thayer Public Library
In order to apply for an LCC grant, applicants must meet all eligibility and criteria requirements of the LCC Program.
For more detailed information, refer to the full LCC Program Guidelines (PDF).
An online application will be available September 1.
