ADDITIONAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. Failure to comply with procedures and guidelines may disqualify your application from consideration.
Additional Guidelines:
Grant applications must be submitted by postal mail no later than October 15, 2011. You may also download the forms from this web site. If you need assistance obtaining an application please email or call immediately.
The ORIGINAL AND 10 COPIES of the complete application must be returned to:
Bridgewater Cultural Council
Town Hall, Central Square
Bridgewater, MA 02324
on or before October 15, 2011. Only one copy of the supporting and promotional materials is necessary. This council will meet on or about October 25, 2011 to review all grant applications.
The grant application must show local community benefit to the Town of Bridgewater and include evidence of the applicant’s ability to complete the project (i.e., letter of support of the event/project, resume of the artist, event already scheduled and/or venue booked or steps taken to schedule and book the event).
Priority will be given to funding new applicants and/or new projects. It is the intention of the BCC to touch as large a percentage of the population as possible with each event/project. Therefore, events/projects that benefit a significant number of residents will be considered before those that benefit a few.
This is a reimbursement program. The BCC is not required to reimburse any organization or individual or group who does not: meet the criteria set forth on the application; provide documentation of expenses; give proper credit for grant monies received from the BCC and the MCC (see Reminder below).
Funding to applicants may be reduced or eliminated after an applicant has received funding from the BCC for three consecutive years. Applicants are encouraged to seek other or additional sources of funding. Council funds are not generally intended to be the sole funding source for projects of a continuing nature. However, consideration will be given to existing programs that have developed new fund-raising opportunities and/or programs.
Copies of publicity for the event/project should be included with the reimbursement payment form.
Reminder: The grantee must acknowledge the support of the Cultural Council with a written and/or verbal statement or by using the MCC logo. The credit statement is: "This program is supported in part by a grant from the Bridgewater Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency." The logo is available at the MCC's web site: www.massculturalcouncil.org. You can also request the logo from the MCC on a camera-ready slick sheet from the Program Associate for Communities (800-232-0960 x348) if you are unable to access the logo on-line. This credit is required by the MCC and failure to comply may jeopardize funding.
