Funding Priorities
The Brookline Commission for the Arts preserves, enriches, and develops the unique cultural characteristics of the Town of Brookline. We do this by serving artists and humanists, their supporting organizations, and the general community, and building bridges between them.
More specifically, we provide a number of initiatives and services, from making grants to promoting arts in Brookline. Click on one of the links below for more information.
Local Guidelines
Preference will be given to Brookline-based nonprofit arts and cultural organizations and to local individuals who work in the arts or humanities.
Applicants must demonstrate that they have been engaged in the kind of activity for which they are seeking funds for at least two years. Evidence may be of previous sale or exhibition of work, performances, reviews, etc.
Two broad categories of application are considered:
(A) Brookline Community Awards: Applications for projects to enhance the educational and/or cultural experience of Brookline residents.
(B) Dissemination Grants: Applications by artists with a body of completed work for funds to defray the expense of publishing, exhibiting, or performing their work.
Important: Please read our complete guidelines which are available on our website: www.brooklinearts.org.
