Chesterfield Cultural Council

Our Council serves the small rural community of Chesterfield, MA. We seek to enrich our town by giving funding priority to cultural programs that benefit all town residents, take place in Chesterfield, and/or are novel and innovative. By offering programs in the arts, sciences, and humanities our town becomes a welcoming and more interesting place to live, work, and visit. With our limited budget, we can only fund a fraction of the applications received and grants range from $75-1000.

The Chesterfield Cultural Council requires letters of agreement from venues where events will take place. For example, if your event will be at the Public Library, please include a note from the librarian agreeing that the event will be allowed to be held at the library. All funded events must be advertised in Chesterfield at least two weeks in advance. Posters, flyers, informational materials can be posted at the Library, The General Store, The Town Offices, The Senior/Community Center, and in local newspapers. For further information please email: culturalcouncil@townofchesterfieldma.com

FY24 Local Priorities

Based on our recent survey, residents of Chesterfield seem very interested in community-wide (and children-centered activities) with more of an emphasis on science, nature, and music. We prioritize programs that take place within Chesterfield and the closest surrounding towns (Cummington, Worthington, Goshen, and sometimes Williamsburg) and programs by local artists/scholars/musicians, etc.
