Local Guidelines
LOCAL GUIDELINES FOR FITCHBURG CULTURAL COUNCIL APPLICANTS
1. Applicant must live in Fitchburg or be sponsored by an organization in Fitchburg;
letter of support from sponsor must accompany application.
2. Project must be done in Fitchburg, be about Fitchburg or benefit Fitchburg residents.
3. All grant applications must be typewritten and include date and time of any event. We ask for 7 copies of your application.
4. All guidelines must be addressed in project applications. Failure to comply will result in an ineligible application.
5. Applicant must present his/her project to the Fitchburg Cultural Council (FCC) at the assigned date and time or request a change or send a representative. (this presentation is sometimes referred to as “Show & Tell”)
6. Public programs must be held in buildings accessible to people with disabilities
7. Projects that request an excess of $5,000 must supply two (2) letters of community
support.
8. Applicants should be aware that the awarding of funds to approved projects can occur as late as several weeks after the January 1 which follows the FCC application
deadline. Applicant budgets for projects scheduled between October 15 of the
application year and March 1 of the following year should reflect this possible delay.
9. Projects must be completed within one funding cycle (i.e. by the December 31 that
follows the awarding of the grant).
10. MCC guidelines require that lcc's fund only activities that are not the responsibility of the city or town government to fund from the local budget.
11. Applicants submitting multiple projects must be prepared to prioritize.
