The Gill Cultural Council serves to create ample opportunities for cultural and artistic expression and experience for all residents, and to infuse the calendar with happenings and events that promote cultural literacy throughout the community. We work with the MCC to bring performers, artists, historians, speakers, musicians, and workshop presenters to our many venues on behalf of the many organizations in town: the Slate Memorial Library, the Gill Elementary School, the Town Hall, the G/M Council on Aging, the Gill HIstorical Commission, the Friends of Gill, etc. We will assist in the marketing, pr, and promotion of events, as well as staffing if necessary.

Funding Priorities
We often receive grant applications from the same people year after year, and while we try to mix it up, given our funding limitations, we are eager for to consider some interesting new applicants. The library runs a summer reading program and is always on the lookout for workshop presenters for their Super Summer Saturdays @ Slate series. We'd love to fund more projects that came from the teachers at the Elementary School, that offered tie-ins to current curriculum projects and offered opportunities for the students to deepen and enrich their understanding of a particular subject. As well, we are interested in trying to bring more independent cultural experiences and opportunities to town for adults.
Local Guidelines
Please go online to print out an application form, fill out all necessary fields and provide all necessary accompaniments, and send to us by October 15. Applications must be postmarked by the 15th in order to be considered; they may also be dropped off during regular Town Hall hours (see town web site)
