Funding Priorities
Based on the results of the 2005 Ipswich Cultural Council Community Input Survey, funding priorities for the 2011 Grant Cycle include:
1. Arts education in the schools
2. Support of community projects by local artists
3. Community wide gatherings: festivals, concerts, plays.
The teen population was seen as most needing support from ICC grant funding.
Local Guidelines
1. The ICC does not directly fund programs that originate from outside of Ipswich. The applicant must first make contact with a representative from an Ipswich school group or other community organization to gain their sponsorship. This representative must then be listed as the contact person on the grant application. ICC does not act as a booking agent for visiting artists.
2. ICC funds are not intended to be used as sole source for funding projects. ICC encourages applicants to solicit additional funds and usually limits applicants to 3 consecutive years of funding.
3. Applicants or a representative are required to attend a meeting to discuss their applications with ICC members on Monday, November 7th 2011 at 7 pm in the Town Manager's conference room. Applicants will be contacted with a schedule of 15 minute appointments by October 25th.
