Review Criteria

Does MCC have rules about what LCCs can and cannot fund?

Yes, there are four basic review criteria in the state regulations that all approved LCC grants must meet. However, LCCs are not limited to using these criteria alone. They use a combination of state and local criteria to evaluate the relative strengths of different proposals and to permit a more impartial decision-making process. The state's review criteria are:

1. Support for the arts, humanities, and/or interpretive sciences

2. Public benefit

3. No substitution

4. Non-discrimination
