Meetings and Correspondence

Conduct a Grant Cycle Voting Meeting

During your grant cycle business meeting, your LCC votes on which applications to fund. Your LCC must weigh many applications and determine those that best meet MCC criteria and local criteria for approval.

A quorum of LCC members is required to vote at your grant cycle business meeting. A quorum is defined as half the members of the council plus one. Telephone voting or proxy voting is not allowed.

Massachusetts law states that all meetings of local government bodies, including those held by LCCs, must be open to the public. LCCs must file a notice with the city or town at least 48 hours prior to a meeting. Minutes must be taken that record where and when the meeting occurred, who attended, what was discussed, and any action that was taken. These minutes become public record. We also encourage you to post them on the LCC Online Office. For more information about open meeting law, see Appendix A of the LCC Program Guidelines .
