Funding Priorities
Preference is given to Lexington based artists/organizations where local support or community involvement has been demonstrated. Also of interest are new programs or projects and emerging artists or arts organizations that have demonstrated artistic merit. Due to limited resources and the LCA’s interest in providing diverse programming, we do not ordinarily grant more than $500 per applicant/organization.
Local Guidelines
To be considered for funding, applications must send 3 copies to be:
- Be received by the stated deadline, signed by the applicant, with all sections complete, and include supporting materials such as resumes, information and/or organizational brochures
- Take place in physically accessible locations in Lexington
- Target or benefit the broadest range of Lexington residents possible, including underserved and diverse populations
- Have confirmed venues and publicity plans
- Have potential to promote excellence, access, and educational opportunities in the arts, humanities, or interpretive sciences.
If approved for a grant, all project announcements, invitations, publicity, etc. must contain this acknowledgement: This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lexington Council for the Arts, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
