The Lynn Cultural Council holds a public meeting and grant writing review every year in September. Please contact LynnArts for exact date for the year you are applying. ALL applicants are encouraged to attend to learn the correct way to fill out your grant request. Because the LCC reviews each grant based on value to the community as well as its financial value, filling out your grant request properly increases your chances of receiving funds.

Funding Priorities
Granting Priorities
*Priority will be given to Lynn Artists and Performers. This does not mean artists outside of Lynn should not apply to present programs or performances in Lynn. However if two programs are of equal value, priority will be given to the artist residing in Lynn (if applicable).
*Effort is made to give priority to projects that introduce or bring the arts to groups or organizations which may not normally have access to or be in a financial or physical position to attend or see such programs or performances.

*The Lynn Cultural Council Grants Committee supports and funds artists and organizations that provide cultural programs and projects in the Arts, Humanities and Interpretive Sciences.
*LCC grant applications are only accepted for programs, projects or events that take place in Lynn and/or directly benefit Lynn residents.
*Application MUST show proof of a confirmed venue or it will be rejected.
*Grant funds should not be the only means of support for your project. Because funds are limited, your event should be able to proceed with only partial funding from the Lynn Cultural Council. Grant funds cannot be used for transportation or refreshment expenses.
*Applications must be typed on the current revision of the (+)LCC grant application.
*Applicants must submit three (3) signed copies with back-up documentation if applicable.
*Applications must be received at LynnArts (or postmarked) no later than the current years October 15th deadline.
*Budgets must be complete, accurate and balanced. Please check your math.
*LCC applications are judged separately then weighed against the merits of other programs with consideration given to criteria such as Community Value and Benefits, Performers Qualifications, Program Planning, Originality, a Realistic and Value Based Budget, and Site Accessibility.
*School Field Trip grants are available (Previously called PASS Grants).
*Field Trip grants are too be used to supplement ticket expenses for cultural school trips. *Field Trip grants cannot be used for bus transportation.

* LCC and Field Trip Grant funds are good for 1 year from the date of the grant approval letter and not transferable to other programs or venues. Funds are to be used ONLY as applied for and approved on your original grant application. Any extension or change in program or venue must be received and approved in WRITING by the Lynn Cultural Council Grants Committee or reimbursement will be denied.
Note: All advertisement/brochures/publicity for your program must bear this credit line: "This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lynn Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency."
