Funding Priorities
1.) Applicants can be: arts, humanities or interpretive science organizations; individuals including artists, science educators, historians or other humanists, parents, community members, etc.; community organizations, Incorporated organizations must be nonprofit; unincorporated associations must have a nonprofit purpose. Individual applicants are required to be residents for at least one year; organizations must be organized and operating in the state for at least one year.
2.) Priority is given to organizations physically located in and primarily serving the residents of Northborough.
3.) Priority is given to collaborative sponsorship applications; i.e. 2 or more local organizations working together to request support for a program.
4.) Priority is given to grants for new, fresh ideas that add variety & diversity to programs offered locally, proposals supportive of town-wide community events and events that help meet the needs of under served parts of the community. Our community input survey indicated interest enrichment in the areas of: arts /music, community events, support for local artists, and science /nature /environmental workshops and lectures.
5.) NCC funds are not intended to be used as the sole source of funding for projects of a continuing nature.
6.) NCC funds must not substitute for or replace other public funding of programs. Schools and libraries may only request funding for cultural enrichment activities that are led by outside artists, humanists, or interpretive scientists.
7.) A local venue, preferably in (but not limited to) Northborough must be chosen and lined up prior to applying.
8.) In all published materials and announcements regarding the activities supported by LCC funds, the sponsoring group or individual must acknowledge this support with a written and/or verbal credit statement or by using the MCC logo.
Local Guidelines
1.) Submit 7 copies of the application & any support materials
2.) If you are a performer, you must have a local sponsoring organization and venue for your performance secured before applying.
3.) Enclose a SASE if requesting return of any materials accompanying the application
4.) Demonstrate that the program(s) will be accessible to the handicapped.
