The Oxford Cultural Council directs funds to individuals and organizations that are dedicated to productive and creative efforts in the Arts, Humanities, or Interpretive Sciences, as defined as follows:
Arts involves the creation of work in the crafts, performing, visual, media, folk, design, literary, and interdisciplinary arts. In addition, they also include the presentation and preservation of and education about works in these disciplines.
Humanities refers to types of learning that deal with human values and aspirations, human thought and culture, language, and creativity. Interpretative Sciences is the types of learning that deal with nature, science, and technology in ways that explain how they relate to people’s lives.

In addition to the MCC guidelines, the Oxford Cultural Council has established the following guidelines:

In order to expedite the grant process, applications should be:
- Filled out completely
- Typed
- Signed and Dated

2. Projects must take place within and/or involve residents from Oxford. Prior written commitment from an Oxford Institution or Organization (Local Sponsor) must be obtained and contained with the grant application.
3. Any school or organization submitting multiple requests for funding must prioritize their projects otherwise the OCC will prioritize according to our judgment.
4. We will not grant funds to pay for transportation of any kind. Transportation assistance may be available at www.massculturalcouncil.org/programs/bigyellow.asp.
Oxford Cultural Council Timeline:
- Application deadline—October 15.
Completed applications must be received or postmarked by October 15. Send application and supporting materials to: The Oxford Cultural Council, 325 Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540.
- Notification of disapproved applications—No later than December 1st
- Notification of approved applications—January
Reimbursement requests due— within two months of completed project or approval notification.
Application Process:
Late applications cannot be accepted. The Oxford Cultural Council cannot be held responsible for applications lost in the mail. If an application is lost and the applicant can demonstrate that an application was sent by the postmarked deadline, the council will consider the application on-time. Without proof, the council will treat the application as late and ineligible for funding.
Funding:
Requests for project modifications and extensions beyond the grant period will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted in writing. Modification requests must be made before the change is implemented. Extension requests must be submitted no later than one year from the date of the approval letter. The council will review and vote on the request and notify applicants in writing of its decision.
