News & Events
For our upcoming 2015 grant proposals, we invite you to consider the importance of water to our lives, and celebrate South Hadley’s heritage and proximity to the river by soliciting proposals that connect with this theme.
We have intentionally defined our water theme broadly and hope to inspire local artists to think creatively about how they can integrate it into their projects in whatever way they wish. Examples might include (but certainly are not limited to) telling stories, creating dances, or performing music referencing water in some way. Some proposals will hopefully choose to feature water-related themes or focus on South Hadley's history as a river town, while others may only contain passing references to these concepts—the choice is yours! We hope to inspire, not to inhibit grant proposals!
Please click the flyer above describing SH2O 2015 and consider how you can integrate our theme for your 2015 proposals, due Oct. 15, 2014. And please pass this flyer on to others that might wish to apply to the SHLCC for a grant.
2014 Grant Awards Reception on April 8, 2014
The South Hadley Cultural Council will host a reception on in honor of this year's grant recipients from 6:30 to 7:45pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the South Hadley Public Library. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to meet and mingle with grantees, Council and community members, and representatives of local organizations.
Council members will also say a few words about funding priorities for the 2015 grant cycle. Individual artists and organizations are invited to be part of SH2O, a year of creative celebration highlighting South Hadley's heritage and proximity to the river. A calendar of events in connection with the SH2O theme is planned. (For additional details click on the "Local Guidelines' tab above.)
