The Williamsburg Cultural Council has awarded 2011 grants totaling $4,415 for cultural programs in Williamsburg and nearby towns. See the Grant Recipients tab for details.
In addition to funding from the state, the WCC raised grant money with a spring 2010 bus trip to New York City.

Funding Priorities
Priority will be given to applicants who are Williamsburg residents; proposals that directly benefit the Williamsburg community; applicants who have arranged for a sponsor or venue for their project prior to filling out an application; applicants who have not previously (or recently) applied to the Williamsburg Cultural Council; repeat applicants with projects that vary significantly from those done in the past.
Local Guidelines
All applicants must submit their proposal on an official application form.
Applicants are required to submit one set of supporting materials. They may include slides, tapes, videocassette, resume, publicity, critical reviews, photos, printed materials. Letters of support/commitment from sponsoring organizations are strongly encouraged.
If an applicant states that he/she will be working with or for another person, organization, or conducting the project in a specific facility, a letter of commitment or agreement from the individual/organization/facility’s representative must be submitted with the application. All applicants proposing to work in the Williamsburg public school system must contact and receive approval from the school principal.
Projects must be completed within one year of the date of the final written notice of grant award approved locally and by the state.
Events/activities must be held in physically accessible facilities.
The Williamsburg Cultural Council must be notified two weeks prior to the commencement of funded projects.
