Funding Priorities
1. Collaborative efforts between multiple groups or Town agencies and an applicant.
2. Applicants who apply for a variety of programs from one cycle to the next instead of repetitive programs
Local Guidelines
Grant applications must be submitted by October 15. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered. Completed applications should be sent to:

1. Please include 16 copies of application in addition to the original. Applications not submitted in sufficient quantity will be rejected.
2. Grants are awarded on a REIMBURSEMENT BASIS. Payment can only be made to the approved applicant AFTER the event or project is completed.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING:
(A) The event must have a specific date, time and location.
(B) Applicants proposing to perform in the Shrewsbury schools or other Town agencies (i.e. Senior Center, Library, etc.) must provide a letter of agreement from the venue. The venue must verify the date or time period, the location and the name of the program. Applications submitted by the agency itself, rather than the artist, will be given preference and will be viewed more favorably.
(C) Grants will not be given for Capital expenditures.
(D) Projects must result in a direct benefit to the Town of Shrewsbury and/or its residents.
(E) Projects must take place during the funding cycle. Applications are due on October 15 and the project must be scheduled between January and December of the year following the application submission. Example: Applications submitted by October 15, 2008 must be for projects to be completed between January 2009 and December 2009.
(F) Projects must involve Arts, Humanitites, or Interpretive Sciences.
(G) Projects of a continuing nature must have additional sources of funding, aside from the Shrewsbury Cultural Council. LCC's cannot be the sole funding vehicle for any project that is ongoing.
(H) Applications must be complete and preferrably typed. Applications must be signed and dated. Incomplete or Illegible applications will be rejected.
