The Royalston Cultural Council supports a wide variety of programs in the arts, theater, music, and natural history every year. On first Fridays from November to April, we sponsor the Royalston Open Mic, which won the Massachusetts Gold Star Award in 2008. We also sponsor the annual Royalston Music Fest each July, which brings talented performers from around the region to Bullock Park for a rousing afternoon of family fun.
We also collaborate with the Village School, Royalston Community School,
the town of Royalston, and Phinehas S. Newton Library and other organizations
to produce programs for students and their families.

Funding Priorities
We welcome any proposal of high quality. We expect the applicant to demonstrate his or her experience and background, as well as an understanding of the needs of our small, rural community. We also want specific ideas on how to best advertise for the event in question and how the artist plans to help the Local Council implement those ideas.
Local Guidelines
Our 2009 survey shows that people want more community-wide events such as dances, movie nights/film series, concerts, and plays -- especially comedies.
We also welcome photographers, craftspeople, nature artists, and field naturalists to offer instruction for all ages.
