Funding Priorities
The Sterling LCC strives to fund applications which will bring cultural events to as many residents of Sterling as possible. To this end, the council attempts to fund a broad spectrum of applications which appeal to people of different ages and interests.
Priority will always be given to projects which directly benefit the residents of Sterling versus projects in which the benefit is unknown. If applicants can supply demographic data that demonstrates that Sterling residents attend performances or exhibitions in out of town venues, that will be taken into account during consideration.
Local Guidelines
No applications to the Sterling LCC for individual performances or events will be considered if the applicant has not contacted a local organization who agrees to sponsor the event. A letter of support from a local sponsor should be included in the application
Applicants or their sponsors agree to advertise events, performances, or appearances in all of the local newspapers and in public buildings such as the library or the schools (if applicable).
All applicants should submit 3 (three) applications to the address listed above or drop them off in person at the Conant Public Library in Sterling. If the applicant wishes all of the council members to review their support information as well as the application, 3 copies should be included.
No tapes, DVDs, or other supporting materials will be sent back to the applicant.
