Local Guidelines
Grant applicants must partner with a local town committee or group in order to perform their program in Tolland. Examples of local partners are the Town Library, Council on Aging, Fire Department, Police Department, and other local community groups. The applicant must work with the local town committee or group to determine a location for the program to take place as well as a date and time. There may be exceptions where a local partner is not required; however, it is strongly recommended.
Field Trip Grants - The TCC will accept and fund Field Trip grants. These will be reviewed at convened TCC meetings. Field Trip funds can be used to cover travel costs to a Field Trip.
Funding - The TCC may fully fund a portion of the proposals received and partially fund others. If the decision to partially fund a proposal the TCC will verify with the individual/group that the event can be successfully completed.
There is no limit the dollar amount awarded to any one applicant. The budget will be reviewed by the committee and if we feel that it is a worthwhile event/project for the community the TCC will fully fund, or partially fund, the project.
The TCC does not limit the number of years any one applicant can come back consecutively for funding for the same project or program. If it is a worthwhile program for the community and the TCC receives feedback that the project or program is worthwhile then it is left to the voting mechanism of the TCC to decided whether or not the project or program will be held again.
