Funding Priorities
The WCC local funding priorities for 2013 include:
In celebration of WESTON 300, proposals that
focus on highlighting the town of Weston and its current and past residents will receive the highest priority.
Collaborative projects between cultural groups and community organizations.
Proposals involving local artists.
New applicants or projects that are underrepresented in the community.
Local Guidelines
Grants must have a local venue/connection
Funds are not to be used as the sole means of support for projects of a continuing nature. Reapplications for continuing projects are occasionally funded for more than three years. We encourage groups not to rely on WCC funding on a yearly basis and to develop other sources of funding.
Funds may not be used for the purchase of food.
Funds for scholarships are available to applicant organizations or individuals, and must demonstrate community benefit.
For a complete list of requirements visit www.massculturalcouncil.org
How much can I ask for?
Due to the limited amount of funds available, grants over $1000 are rarely funded.
The majority of grants funded were for less than $750.
Smaller requests are more likely to be funded.
No application for funding will be considered unless the applicant has completed the following:
The applicant must submit a well planned proposal and should show community involvement and support.
The proposal must include a venue or sponsoring organization. A letter from the venue provider/organization confirming the location and date is highly recommended.
Applicant must submit 8 copies of the application.
