Lexington Council for the Arts
Mission
The Lexington Council for the Arts’ mission is to promote and fund community arts and culture activities to enhance the quality of life for Lexington residents.
Grants
The Lexington Council for the Arts (LCA) administers Local Cultural Council (LCC) Grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). LCC Grants fund or partially fund proposals from individuals, schools and organizations that meet state MCC guidelines as well as Lexington’s local criteria.
Note: The grants are reimbursement based. (The grantees expend their own money, and after the project has taken place, they submit a form to Lexington’s LCC for reimbursement.)

FY24 Allocation
$9,100
FY24 Local Priorities
Applications are evaluated in terms of several review criteria: artistic or creative merit; benefit to the cultural life of Lexington; project design; qualifications, dedication and accomplishments of the individuals and organizations involved; accessibility of the program and of facilities being used; community involvement; and financial need.
Priority will be given to programs that benefit the broadest possible range of Lexington residents and to applicants who are based in Lexington. Also of interest is first-time funding of programs and emerging artists or organizations that have demonstrated artistic merit.
FY24 Local Guidelines
Because of limited resources and the Lexington Council for the Arts’ interest in supporting numerous and diverse programming, our grants typically range from $200 to $1,000 per applicant/organization.
